tOKboK, May 27. Eighty dead bodies were recovered from the ruins of the Opera Comi-. que. Many of those injured were women of fashion and ballet girls. The audience was leaving the building quietly until the smoke made its appearance, when a terrible panic ensued. Many were trampled to death on the stairs whilst others were burnt to death and suffocated.

Paris, May 28. It is now estimated that fully ioo lives were lost by the fire at the Opera Comique. The bodies of several English ladies have been extricated from the ruins.
