THE POPE AND ITALY.
The Pope has published a letter, m which he refers to the strained relations between the Vatican and Italy. His Holiness has expressed his earnest desire for a reconciliation, and maintains that personal liberty would not injury Italy, while it would greatly contribute to the prosperity of the Papacy.
