DEFECTIVE WEAPONS.
The Royal Commission appointed to enquire into the method, m vogue for making and testing defensive weapons have furnished their report. They de^ clare that the systems are radically faulty, but that the charges of corruption against the officials are unfounded. That wholesale defects m the construction of weapons were proved to exist ; also that there had been incessant blundering and a gross waste of public money. The weapons which had been adopted by the Government were found to be practically useless. The Commission recommend the appointment of a technical supervisor to act m conjunction with the Board of Advice.
