CORRESPONDENCE.
» — ' We do not hold ourselves responsible for the opinions ■ expressed by our correspondents HOW THE MONEY GOES. 10 THE EDITOR. Sib,— Passing our local Rifla range a few days ago, I was sorry to see everything connected with it m a neglected, and ruinous state. The marker's house •nd the sod-worV are getting " email by degrees and beautifully less"— fast crumbling to decay. There is evidently no Itfeani of hoisting the danger-fUg without climbing up and fastening it to the flig■»aff. The range is .In parts being overgrown with gorae etc., while there i 8 no path to approach it, except wading through tuseook and tax busho?, which must be a great discomfort on a dowy morning. Wa should look for something better than this state of affairs when oar senior Bin's Company can aff >rd to spend money on Its officers, within the last two years, to the tune of £50 sterling. Last year a large sum was spent In getting the officers of corps "rigged out" m full dress uniform. Some of theEO uniforms are now worn by batallion officers, and a ■hort time ago (as waa reported m your column*) cheques were being distributed amongst a " favored fe jr. " Now, sir, aa a result of this munificence, members of the corps aro being "stuck up" to pay. their monthly subscriptions m advance, This, I think, Is hardly fair. I don't think that) either the men' 3 subscriptions or their hard-earned capitation •hould be devoted- to tho clothing of buttalllon officers, nor yet handed over to officers m the shape of presents. Trusting that m time to come, those who have the ■pending of the Company's money will spend it for the boncfi 1 : of tho company at large; ' '. lam, oto., Akgus
