PECULIAR CIRCUMSTANCES.
Auckland, Mvp 14. R, Badger, grocer, Eden terrace, has been the vlotim of a brutal assault and robbery. Late on Tuesday nfght he was fonnd UQOonsclona m a aide street near his shop and has alnoe been m high fever ejaculating "Oh those larrikinß. I've been robbed." There are no marks of violence, and it ia supposed he had been garroted or drugged and robbed of over £20. Tho whole affair ia a mystery. Badger is most a respectable man bnfc he is of nervous temperament. Ss far as known he had no occasion to be In the street where found.
