Auckland, May 9. An enquiry into the charges preferred against Lieut.-Oolonel Mahon m proceeding to-day before Colonel Lyon, the officer commanding the "Volunteers m the district. The oharges include one of, — ' making disparaging remarks against : Martelli at a public house bar, , and also publishing private letters from Captain MoDonald and Lieutenants Palmer and Martelli m breaoh of the regulations. Proceedings are private.
