HOUSEHOLDERS' MEETING

ASHTON; The annual meeting of householders wab held on Monday evening. There waß a fair attendance. The Chairman of Committee, Mr G. Gil moor, read the annual report, which showed the sohool to be m good (forking o-der. A change has been made m the teaching staff, and from the last report the roll nutnbor wag gradually increasing. The school grounds and fences were all m good ropair, and there was a credit balaaca of £8 which would be available for tho new Committee to expend ou any works that might be considered necessary for the comfort of the Bchool. The report was approved of, avid the election of Committee took placa, the following being elected: -J, Brown, W. Ashtou, W. Oroy, J. doy, T. Magee, D. Ryan andG. Gilmour. The latter was re-elected as Chairman, Mr J. Croy, who was nominated, deolinlng to stand.
