WATERTON WESLEYAN CHURCH

• A very successful coffee supper was held m the Weßleyan Church, Waterton, on the 7th instant It being the first of the kind ever held m Waterton, the promoters were a little dubious aR to the result. The Ohurch — notwithstanding a counter attraction m the form of a ball m the Library building adjoining, was well filled, and the venture passed off exceedingly well Bey D. McNicholl opened the meeting about 7.30, and after singing and prayer, spoke on the subject suggested by the meeting, which was a Harvest Thanksgiving Service, as well as a coffee supper. Mr Moses explained that the object of the mee'ing was to raise funds to pay off the balance owing on the organ. It cost £20, and there were about £3 yet to raise* The meeting wbb then addressed by Mr Richard Murray (who is about to enter College In Auckland m view of becoming a minister), Rev B. F. Roth well (of Gore, Otago), and the Rev J. W. Newbold. About 930 the tea and coffee were served out, and this part of the proceedings seemed eminently popular. The Church was neatly and tastefully ndornerl with good entnplos of the fruits of the earth, and the success of the meeting was enhanced by the music provided by the Willowby Choir. The usual votes of thanks to the ladies who provided the eatables, to the Choir and the speakers brought a^very successful meeting to a close.
