The English' markets show no sign of improvement, and charterers are more anxious to obtain freight for their vessels. Wheat— Pricoß continue firm ; any lines offered are quick'y taken np at tho prices noted. Tuscan, m prime condit on, is scarce at 3s 5d to 39 6d ; Pearl also ia m request at 3s 5d ; Hunter's commands 33 4d to 3s 4£d. Second quality is kept firm by the scarcity of chicken wheat, anp readily placed at 3s to 3s 3d j broken chicken wheat for local wants fetches 2s 9d to 2s lid. __ Oats — This market is weak owing to the depressed state of the market m Australia, and the large supplies offering down South. Prime short feed have to accept is 9d as the best price, while lontj kinds and inferior short descriptions, of which thore are plenty of samples offering, are very much neglected at Is 6d to Is 7d . Considerable quantities are going into store on owner's account, awaiting for a reaction m the trado. Barley has had a brisk demand, and prices are firm at — for prime malting, 3s Gd to 3s 8d ; medium, 3a to 3s 3d. Feed has been sold at 2s 3d. Beans have been sold at 2a lOd to 2s lid, and blue peas at 3s to 33 3d for samples true to name. Feed descriptions are offering at 2a 9d to 2s lOd, with little business. Ryegrnss has only a passing enquiry, the majority of intending buyers deoiding to postpone their sowing until spring. Cocksfoot has boon sold at 3£d to 3§d for clean sesd. Potatoes— Considerable saloß have been made at 27s to 28s for primo Derwents t,t country stations. Dairy produce has few buyers, and prices are not improving. Quotations are unaltered.
