Caudle.— There wa3 a fair supply of fat cattle, bat the demand was poor, arid weaker prices were the result. Good steers an.d helf ei s Bold from £5 103 to £6 10s ; lighter weights, £4 to £5 ; and coy a from £3 apwardtr. Prime beef c»n be quoted at no more than 17a per ICOIbB y middling to good qnality, 15s to J63; Inferior, ftboofc 12a 6d to Hi. Store cattle were not present m large numbers, *od were simply unsaleable. Dairy stock continue to sell well. Good springers ■ad newly-calved cowr sold from £6 to £9. Dry and inferior cows brought low prices. Hh ebp. —The market was again fall, tfce quality showing a slight improvement on that of last week though indifferent lines ■till preponderated, There waa still an absence of export demand, but the local trade bought fairly, and the best mutton resided rather better values compared with last week. Prime oroßsbred wethers sold from 8s to 9s 3d; lighter weighfa sod young ewes, from 5a to 7s ; old sheep, 3s to 4i. There was no change m merihor. We quote prime crest bred wet her mutton l£d per 1b ; middling to good, Id to J^d per lb ; inferior at nominal prices. The transactions m store sheep were considerable iv numbers, but not important m regard to prices. A good line of 350 orossbred breeding ewes, four-tooth sold at 43 7d, and two-tooth at 3s 3d. Other lines of crossbred ewes aold— loo at 3s 6d, 113 at 3», 150 at 2s 9d. 120 at 2s Bd, 161 at 2a 7d, 373 at 2 3 6d, 650 at 2s 55,^100 at 2s 8 i to 2a 9d, 105 at 2s Id, and several small lines at Is 9d and upwards ; 230 quarter-bred ewes, mostly four-tooth, at 3) 9d ; 900 merino eweß (White Roc't) 1b 7d and U 8d ; and a line of good merino ewfs from the Waiau at 2s Bd. Fat lambs were very low, the best pens fetching from 4i Gd to 5s 6d; fair lines, 3b Gi to 43 j Otores, li 6d to 3s 6d. Pig S —The supply waa not above the Average. Prices were ix regular, but most of the best porkers brought rather higher prices. Stores of deeirable condition also sold wall, Porkers brocght from 15s to 25b ; stores, 10s to 18*, aocording to description.
