A contributor of amusing " rerninifcsncoo of society " to tbe colutrna of an exchange furnishes tho following as an Incident, occurring at the table of tho late Lord Northwlok. Be recnmmfnded to the notice of a lady some sweet dlah that was near him, when sho replied, ' Thank yon, my lord, I have some pudding '; not apprehending her answer, he agnln and B^aiD, at short Interval*, urged her to taste the dish, and received the sime inaudible reply, when the lady's lout of a country servant couaidered he ought to explain matters. Ho therefore approached Lord Northwick's chair, and putting his mouth close t"> his lordship's ear, vociferated with all his lungs, 'My lo'd, missus cay« she'll stick to the pudding ' The effeofc was electrical, bm no one enjoyed the j-ke better than the deaf lord himself.
