A BANK TELLER AT FAULT.
It Ib not often that anybody rocalveo too much money, In mistake, from a batik teller, still leas often that a teller makes ■ach a mistake twice In a day. Such a o»ae baa, however, been brought under the notice of tbe Napier " Telegraph." A well known contractor went to his bank and asked for five five pound notes besides other cash. He got hta bundle of notes and coin, left the place, and went and paid some of his men off. One of them opening his roll, discovered that one of the notes instead of being a five was a twenty. He mentioned it, and two other men discovered a similar mistake bad been made m their case. The attention of the employer wan drawn to the faot, and he then discovered that instead of reoairing five fivetf, be bad received five twenties— • £100, Instead of £25. He immediately retraced his steps, and informed the cashier of his mistake. The gentleman becune 00 confused on hearing of his blunder that he sejreely tnew what he was about, and instead of giving the coatractor five fives, having the still inhlß mind, handed ovor twenty-fives unking as bad a blunder ac before. Tbe contractor shoved the money back ag*in, and told tho cashier he had pot his fo r )t m it again. Ha eventually got the money ho required, and left the bar k man so mfxod up that he did not know whether be waa standing on bia hoad or heels. Thia la a fact.
