The "European Mail" understands that during the current year inoreaßed efforts will he made, not only to develop the frczan meat trade between England and the River Plate, but to plaoa it on a sound commercial footing. Since the first shipment the business has grown enormously, but fortunately it has not proved very remunerative for those engaged m it ; at any rate the London and River Plate Fresh Meat Company has not turned out the uuocesa that was anticipated; With greater facilities for slaughter* log and ahipping, however, and If care can be exercised regarding the leleotlon of tbe atook. there is every reason to anticipate that the frozen meat industry will prove one of tbe most paying of the numerous industries m connection with tbe River Plate. The total of 1,084,000 oarcasaes, equal to 27.352 torn, was received m London list year.
