Sydney, March 24 The colliery explosion at Bulli occurred yesterday afternoou, but no news was received till night. Accounts to hand state that a sudden terrific blast of hot air burst from the tunnel, and the force of the explosion blocked the mouth. A search party, with difficulty, penetrated a distance of three quarters of a mile then' discovered six charred bodies of aduits and the disembowelled remains of a boy. Efforts are beiDg made to gel at the others entombed, who are said to number seventy, bat their rescue is believed to be hopeless, many of the search party being rendered unconscious by foul air. A profound sensation has been caused throughout the I district and the scene of anguish at the tunnel's mouth, where the wives and children of the entombed men congregated, is indescribable. The mine has been lying idle for some time owing to a strike but work was lately resumed and every precaution had been taken to ensure the safety of the miners.
