A PUZZLED JUSTICE.
The Napier "Daily Telegraph" contributes the following good Yankee story : — In some States a Justice can perform the marriage ceremony.'. A newly-eleoted Jastice was suddenly oalled on to officiate. He had no book of forms, and was considerably puzzled hoir to go about the job. He tried to recall all the legal forms he could, and the couple being before him,, began " To all to whom these presents shall come," but there he stuck, as some one suggested that that was the way a deed began, uot the way people were married. Then he began again, "In the name of God, amen,!' but was met by the objection that the patties wanted to be married, not to make their wills. A further attempt proved to be m the terms In which a warrant to levj was addressed to a sheriff, and of course it would not do, so at last, m desperation, his Worship made the bridegroom swear he would be a good husband and the wife swear Bhe would faithfully perform her duty, and then he proiiounoed them married.
