Lord Dufferin, Viceroy, m receiving addresses with the celebration of the Queen's Jubilee, delivered a speech, m which he expressed approval of the ambition of the Natives to gain a wider control of the domestic affairs of the country. He stated that he should be pleased if he were able to extend their political status. Rangoon February 16 The occasion of the Queen's Jubilee was celebrated m Mandalay m a most cordial manner.
