LONDON WOOL SALES.

London, Fubrnary 17. The wool sales closed to-day. The competition up to the last was brisk and rates firm. The total kuantity sold during the series was 380,000 bales and 2 0,000 were held over. Greasy wool ruled a halfpenny higher than last sales' closing rates; scoured at about the same rates as at the close of the December series. Fleece wool closed irregular, Lambs — more demand at slight improvement. For crossbred prices were a halfpenny better than the closing rates for the last sale. (SPECIAL TO PRESS ASSOCIATION.)
