The Rw. the Mo.ilflrator then delivered ( an eloquent opening address Wellington, February 9. At the Presbyterian Assembly this morning a letter was read from the Rev Dr Blaike, Edinburgh, relative to Ben'Hng a reprec-nta-tive to the Alliance It was dec drd that if any minister from the New Zealand Church happened to be at Home at the time the \lliance meets, he should be commissioned to represent the New Zealand Church. The testimonials of the Rev. Dunlop, appointed to the professor ship of theology at Otago University, were forwarded by the < tago Synod for the. information of the Assembly, were read ' and acknowledged. The committee appointed to consider the treasurer's report state that the balanceBheet shows £699 15s 7d at present m the hands of Mr Mac Cosh Clark, Auckland, also £90 m the hands of the Rev tfidey, of Napier. Of this sum £400 must be remitted to Sydney immediately m payment of missionary's salary, £100 to the Dayflpring, and other liabilities amounting to £115, leaving a balance of about £1,50. The question of receiving the Rev C. Worboys into the church was remitted to a speoial committee for consideration.
