SERIOUS COACH ACCIDENT.
Grbymouth, February 7.
A. coach acoident occurred at Mawhera Creek to-day. Just after starting, the driver found the reins wrong, and got down to fix them, when the horeea bolted. Not having anything to stop them, he ■efaad the break and held on for over a quarter of a mile, bat he was thrown, the •oaoh going over his hand. Four adults *nd two children were m the coach Approaching the Eight-mile Hill, Mrs M'Keohnie was asßiitad out of the oaoh, bat she fell on the road, cutting her forehead severely. Mr M'JKechnle injared his knee m getting out. His two children then paEsad out all right. A Chinaman injured his wrkt • id hand m •lighting on the road. Joe Poyaton, being young and ao'ive, escaped without injury. The horses were finally stopped by running into Blair's coach at the bottom •f the hill. How they got down without rolling down the sida of the preciploa la a mystery. fc
