BATHING IN THE DOMAIN.
TOTHBBDITOB. . Sir,— l would like to draw the attention of " Burgess" to the fact that the persons who have been bathing recently m the domain are not larrikins as ho terms them. They. are. recent arrivals m Aahburton and consequently clean peopleIt seems wonderful (but it is a faot) that the townspeople of Ashburton who go without a sirim (and I daresay a large number without a bath ) from one years end to the other, have a splendid sheet of water within the belt and are not allowed to use it. Surely It would In no way demoralise the likes of "Burgess" to allow those who oare ahout it to enjoy a morning swim m the Domain before 7 a.m.— l am not a swimmer but I believe m cleanliness and 1 consider it a standing disgraoe to the burgesses and Borough Councillors not to have some provision made foi swimming.— l am etc., New Chum.
