Adelaide wheat, ex store, to-day. 37s ; New Zealand ditto, 31s to 36s 6d, according to quality; Adelaide flour, ex store, 25s 6d; tallow, Australian, average quality, beef, 26s 6d ; mutton, 30s. The stock of tallow in London to-day is 10,000 casks. Wool; At today’s sale 12,600 bales were catalogued. A slightly improved tendency was manifested. London. December 2 The weekly returns of the Bank of England published to-day, show the proportion of reserve to liabilities to be 44 per cent, or 1 per cent less than last week. The total reserve in notes and bullion is -£11,400,000 a decrease of £200,000 for the week. Consols have fallen per cent, and are quoted at New Zealand securities—five per cent 10 40 loan 102 ; four and a half per cent 5.30 loan inscribed stock, 9'. Colonial breadstuffs are unchanged •t previous quotations. At the colonial wool auctions to-day 10,700 bales were offered. The market is irregular, and Australian greasy crossbreds yid lower than at the close of last sales. Melbourne, December 3. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency held their usual weekly sale yesterday, submitting a fairly represenlion catalogue of 6852 bales of which 5093 were sold, making, with 454 sold on Saturday, 5547 bales for the week. The attendance exceeded that at any previous sale. Notwithstanding the advices from London competition was toimated and prices firmiy maintained for all except inferior and medium qualities, which were slightly easier. Greasy wool realised 13d; washed fleece, 13d; scoured, ’ several large lines being sold at the latter price. Gpldsborough and Co. have received the following telegram from London, dated December Ist; —“ Inferior and greasy wool is from i<f to 1 lower than at the close of last sales; good greasy from }£d to id lower; scoured, from ij£d to 2d lower; crossbreds firm; merinos declining. Continental buyers are only operating slightly. The Americans are not buying. A considerable quantity has been withdrawn. Sydney, December 1. New Zealand wheat is selling at 3s pd; New Zealand oats, 2s 3d; maize, per gfilb, 3s sd, Sngar Company’s No. 1 pieces, £25 per ton. Adelaide December 1. Wheat is quiet at 4s lod to 4s nd ; Adelaide flour, town brands, £ll 10s, country brands, £lO 15s.
