Tha Government intend to levy rates on some of the District Railways to make up the deficiency in receipts. The amount to bo recovered on the Walmaio line is £678, Rskata -Ashburton Forks, £1035. Duetto n Hokateremea, £1223 The rates will be etru 'k in aco >riance with tha Purchasing Act of last session and ha payab’e early t ext month.
