Tho following is the Corn Exchange report for tho week ending Friday, 15th October :

T mre has been a total absence of life or speculation in grain and produce, and with the exception of wheat it is exceedingly difficult o effect a aula, co sequent y it is a hard matter to give a correct quota ion as between buyer and seller The auction on Wednesday, which was well attended, was chiefly noticeable by the to’al indifference on tho part of buyers to operate. Wheat,— Values for this cereal maintain last quotations, especially for prime milling lines of Pearl which is in short supp y ; local millets being the chief operators with an occasion'd order from the north. Quotations are : Prime Tuscan and Pearl. 4s 5d ; Hunters’ 4s 4d ; second quality, from 4s to 4s 3d ; and chick wheat, 3s Q d to 3a lid. Oats —Have few transactions to record. Holders ask 2s 3d to 2s 4d for short feed, but buyers say they have no orders. Prime milling are lightly held, and are worth 2s od. Danish and Tartars have no enquiries

Barley.—Tho malting season is pretty well passed, and the primest malting samples have been nearly all taken up Malting parcels now on offer a'e worth from 2s 6d to 2s 9d. Feed is quiet at 2s 4d to 2a 5d Beans and Peas.—No business to note.

Rye Grass and Cocksfoot have a very flat market The former has a downward tendency, and the latter has no buyers, but a few lines aro being shipped on owners’ account We quote machine dressed rye grass at 5s to 5s 3d : farmers’ parcels. 3s 9d to 4s 3d ; heavy cocksfoot, -id to 4id. Potatoes have no buyers, and holders are compel! d to ship ou their own account to Sydney where the market is anything but favourable to shippers. Small 'ots for local uso are selling at 23s 6d at country stations Dairy Produce. —Butter is falling, and tho demand from outside is nominal Cheese has a fair trade. Enquiry at last week’s quotations.
