The Wellington currespondent of the Press telegraphs ;—The total Custom receipts for the month amount to only some £98.000, as against £108,641 for the previous month, as agaiuat £125,026 for September, 1885 This is a veryjlaige falling tff. The t*t»l Customs receipts for the first halt of the current financial year amount therefore to about £631 500, which exhibits a deficiency of no less than £73,600 as compared with the Treasurer’s estimate, or at the rate of £146,000 per annum. The beer du‘y also exhibits a deficiency of abont £4700 for the half-year.
