He stated that the Directors had agreed with his representations in every point except as to certain business which it was thought desirable to continue. He had carefully examined all the securities, and was satisfied they represented the amount of capital and reserve fund. Several questions were asked in answer to one of" which Mr Harris stated that no Directors had ever borrowed from the Company. The meeting ex pressed confidence in the Company. The Fire Brigade, at a mee' icg t > night, considered the draft programme received from the Demonstration Comrmt'ee in Dunedin. The majority of members were in favor of entering for tho competitions, but before doing so resolved to ask whether the visitors who may not be able to take their own apparatus would be allowed to use that of the Duuedin cimpeditors. Tho opinion was expressed that the entries would be consideralbe more numerous if tho Demonstration C mmittae coaid assure the competitors on this point, as dissatisfaction was expressed on a previous occasion re giving visitors defective apparatus to compete with.
