The N.Z Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, has received the fo - lowing cablegram from L?ndoa, dated September 14rh : Wool— Competition is increasing, and quo‘at;ons are on an average £d to Id per lh better than at the opening of the sales, except for crossbred iambs washed. The total quantity gold by private treaty since last sales is 20,000 bales, therefore the sales comprise about 265,000 bales net. Up to dts 76 050 bales have been sold.
Wheat Market dull, and foreign arrivals heavy The bulk of the harvest has been secured in fairly good condition. Victorian is worth 35 1 6d, and New Zealand average 33s 01 per 4981 b. Tallow—Market quiet, and quotations unchanged. Leather —Market steady, and best sides are worth lid per lb. Frozen Meat—Market sluggish, and stocks heavy. New Zealand mutton weighing 651 b to 701 b per carcase is worth 4fd per lb.
