BRITISH AND FOREIGN [rKDXER’S TELEGRAMS —COPYRIGHT.] AMERICAN WHEAT YIELD. New York. September 11. The Agricultural Bureau estimates that the forthcoming American wheat crop will yield nine million bushels more than last year.
PENNY POSTAGE. London, September 12, The Times to-day publishes an article which states that Mr Cecil Raikes, the Postmaster-General, is at present engaged in examining into the question of reducing the postal rates. It is further stated that he favors the establishing of a system of universal penny postage.
BOYCOTTING. London, September 13. General Duller, who has been despatched to Ireland for the purpose ot suppressing boycotting, is now travelling through County Clare, where agrarian outrages are of frequent occurrence. ADJUSTMENT OF RENT. London, September 13. In the House ot Commons to-day a Bill to amend the present land legislation of Ireland was introduced by Mr Parnell and read a first time. The measure provides that Land Courts should be empowered to reduce rents, at periods of two years and evictions should be stayed when a tenant has deposited with the court half the amount owing to a landlord.
