Mr E. G. Stave'ey (for New Zsaland Loan and Mercantile Acency Company, Limited) reports on Tinwald sale on 14th September : —About 1003 sheep and a few pigs and cattle formed the day’s supply, which, owing to the rough weather, was doubtless more limited than it would have been. The ettendancs was below the average, and business quiet throughout. Fat crossbred ewes brought 10s ; f»t merino wethers, 10s 6d; forward do, 4i lid ; fair merino ewes, with good p.c. crossbred lambs, 4s; good dairy cows made £4 17 6d to £7 ; fat cows, to £7 10s. No good lines of store cattle yarded.
