The ground was in capital condition for the football match New Sooth Wales v Otago, though the visitors appeared to find it a little slippery. fShaw the captain of the Sydney team, was able to play for hia aide. The weather was excellent, and the attendance was large. The game turned out t > be very one-sided, and the visitors were everywhere over-matched. It was fall of incident as the score made shows, bu‘ the incidents were too one-aide to make the game exciting. Five minutes after play commenced Miller potted a goal for Otago, and another followed when play had extended over seventeen minutes, Bee kicking it. Before the half honr was over Thomson secured a t r y, which Bee converted into a goal, the score at half time being Otago 13 points, Sydney nil Twelve minutes from the start of the seoond spell Strong secured a try, and Bee kicked another goal. Not long after Morris secured a try, and Bee again placed a goal. The Sydney men made shannons efforts to prevent further score, and succeeded though hard pressed, and the game ended with Otago’s score at 23, Sydney nothing. Thy Sydney men were entertained at a smoke concert to night. Another team play against them on Monday. The following entirely new team play New South Wales on Monday .‘-Fall-back —D Fraser ; three-quarter-backs—Hope, Rosooe, Vallange ; half-backs—Marsh, Noel; forwards—Douglas, Orabb'e(c*pt.), A Gibson and W. Gibson, Morris, J. Morrison, Shepard, T. Winame, Wright.
