The Timant Herald of this morning has the fol’owlng ; —Ever since the robbery of £64, the ptoceeds of the sale of tlojcets for the Waihao excursion in March last, which haa been shrouded in much mystery, no due had up to yesterday morning been found that would throw the slightest ray of l : ght on the affair. The police, especially Detective Kirby, have worked hard to bring the perpetrators of the crime to justice, but their efforts have so far been futile. However as we have said, a clue hrs at last been found in the shape of a bag, which contained the large sum of money named. One of the railway employees had caalon yesterday to rummage amongst some waste paper in the parcels office, and to his otter astonishment he came across the one time money-bag. The look of the bag is quite Intact, but the aide of it had been ripped open; and strangest thing of ail, the bank slip was found among the folds of the bag. As he place where it was found bad been h oronghly searched many tiroes since he robbery, it is concluded that the bag bad been placed among the waste paper recently. The perouiisr circumstances surrounding the finding of the article named seemed to increase rather than dl-
