The Prrmier of Victoria has sent the 1 following dispatch to the Agent-General of that colony relative to tho suggestions recently made for Antarctic exploration and trade There seems from reports to be a fair prospect of a remunerative enterprise such as msy perhaps attract the attention of those conversant with whaling ; and if any proprietors of Teasels would be disposed to make the attempt, this Government, and possibly other Australian Governments, might be induced to grant iu connection with it some aid for tho encouragement of scientific discovery. Sir G. Berry is requested te make I- fjuiries as to the likelihood of the enterprise, and the extent of Government assistance which would be expected in order to lead to its being taken up ; and _is recommended to apply to Mr !David Bros 3, of Dundee, the principal of (team whalers,
