This afternoon the Government Life Assurance Bill, Local Bodies Finance and Powers Bill, and the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Bill were read a third time and passed, and the amendments made by the Council In the Civil Service Reform Bill were agreed to. The Connell has passed the Government Loans to Local Bodies B IL The House is now (7 30) in Committee on the Stamp Act Amendment Bill, and after considering the Council’s amend* menta in the Municipal Corporations and Counties Bills, the Representation Bill comes on for its second reading, and the debate thereon will probably occupy the remainder cf the sitting. In answer to a question by |lr Xvess r? extension of telegraphic or tsbohools communication to Waterton, the MTnlmtpg has promised to make enquiries as to whether the anticipated revenue would justify tha ontlay. Mr Ivess has also queetkm on the Order Paper re adjustment of railway tariff, so as to allow of fruit beiog carried at lower rates, and also with aviewcf making arrangements for vi cdnation at Bakala.
