[beute i’s telegrams—COPYßlGHT ] Lon don, July 27At a meeting at the Carlton .Club Lord Salisbury confirmed the statement already telegraphed that Lord Hartington had promised bis support to the measures introduced by the Conservatives bearing upon the Irish difficulty. Lord Salisbury expressed a hope that this would result in the last- , ing settlement of affairs in Ireland. A meeting of the Conservative party has been held at which it was resolved to proceed immediately with supply when Parliament resumes, and after j that had been obtained, adjourn until January next.
It is reported that Colonel Stanley, Secretary of State for the Colonies in the last Conservative administration, will again take that portfolio on the formation of a new Ministry,
