Wellington, July 26
This afternoon the Port Chalmers Fire Brigade Bill was pnt through Committee, read a third time and passed, and at about three o’clock the New Plymouth Harbor Bill was again oal'ed on. Colonel Trimble, who is opposing the measure, talked against time till 6.30, when the debate was interrupted. This evening the debate on the Loan Bill was resumed by Mr McKenale (Moeraki), who Is now speaking. He is t-x pected to conclude with an amendment, in which case the debate Is not likely to close to-night.
la the Legislative Oouncii,i£-day, contrary to expectation, the Civil Service Reform Bill passed Its second reading.
