The Unemployed. Auckland, July 26. At a meeting of the unemployed this morning angry remarks were made about the Government being dilatory and the refusal of the Mayor to start works or address a meeting. It was resolved to send another telegram to Government tha men are waiting for relief. A Committee was appointed to wait on the Mayors of suburban boroughs asking for work. Vessel Ashore. Gisborne, July 26 The Brigantine Aratapu 120 tons came ashore last night at 6 o’clock in a southerly gale. Tha crew walked ashore at low tide this morning The vessel is on a sandy beach. She belongs to the Auckland Sash and Door Company, and Is Insured In the Sonth British, but the amount is not known She arrived last Tuesday from Newcastle with. a cargo of coals consigned to Kennedy and Harris. The coal was nearly all taken out before she came ashore. The cable parted and she drifted on the beach. No damage is done to her. The [San Francisco Mail. Wellington, July 26 The Southern portion of the ’Frisco mail loaves by the Waihora at 3 o’clock. A Mistake. Dunedin, July 26 The deith of the boy Smith at Lawrence last week, which was suppossd to have been due to eating poisoned rabbits, resulted from natural causes.
