As the express train from Launceston last night was crossing at Bridgewater about 12 miles from this city the swing bridge opened and the engine fell. It got jammed against the buttress. This prevented the carriages following, but the tender turned topsy turvey and dropped into the river. The fireman and mother person are missing. It is supposed they have been drowned.
