CARDINAL MORAN’S VISIT.

Cardinal Moran has sent an cfficla report, dated March 24. to the Propacanda In Rome, giving an account of his recent visit to New Zealand, The Some correspondent of the London * Tablet gives the following summary of it ; “ His Eminence received the most c ndial welcome from all classes, inc’u.Ung th l Government of New Zealand, the Governor doing all possible honor to the flrat cardinal visiting that Colony Twenty thousand people, mostly Protestants and Presbyterians, met him at Donedin, where His Eminence consecrated a new and splendid cathedral. At Wellington, where he Inaugurated the new college of 8t Patrick, built at an oulby of L2<),0"0, the Governor gave a grand banquet and a garden party to the Cardinal Archbishop, who wss accompained by >he Bishops of Maitland, Adelaide, Dunedin, Auckland, Wellington, and their secretaries. A private entertainment was also given In their honor, at which over 2000 of the principal personages of the Colony took part, in eluding the Governor and ’ he Chief Justice. At Auckland the party were received with regal honors, and found awaiting them a State carraee drawn by six white Arabian horses, with attendants in scarlet liveries. The address of welcome was read by the Minister of Justice, whilst the travelling carriages were provided by the Colonial Secretary, Mr Buckley, though the two officials abovensmed, the Cardinal states, are at variance with the Bishops of Wellington and Auckland B shop Reynolds, of Adelaide, in writing to the Propaganda on the same subject, under date March 27, says that the visit of Cardinal Moran to New Zealand will prove of incalculable benefit; that reception was truly loyal, even the Orangemen taking part therein, and that at the banquet given at Wellington, , presided over by the Governor in person, all the Protestant ladies claimed the privilege accorded their Catholic sisters to kiss the ring of the Cardinal, whose general courtesy and kindly word* won all hearts ”
