Christchurch, July 19.

Thomas Ayers, one of the oldest and most respected residentsof Woodend, died suddenly yesterday morning. The Committee of the Benevolent Associati n has decided not to revive it as a separate institution, as the Charitable Aid Board is satisfactorily performing the functions of the Association.

The death of Tregasser, who was fonud dead last night, was caused by rupture of the heart.
