ASHBURTON LIVE STOCK MARKET, Messrs Matson, Cox and Co. report npon the live stock market for the Ashburton district for the week ending July 13th, as follows On Tuesday, at the Ashburton Yards, we held our usual sale of sbeep, cattle and pigs The entry for the day was not a large one, and prices were not quite so good as the previous week for fat sheep, but stores were fully maintained in value. During the week wo have sold several large lines of forward conditioned crossbred wethers at satisfactory prices. In cattle there was a medium entry, and all were disposed p|, although competition was not very brisk, We sold crossbred wethers, 9s 6d ; store 2-tooth wethers, Ts ; old crossbred awes, 5s 3d ; crossbred cull lambs, 2a Id ; merino ewes, 4s ; me-ino wethers, 3s 3d to 3s 6d. In Cattle - Fat cows, £5 5s ; forward steers, £4 16s; store heifer?, £2 15s 6d ; yearlings, £1 12s to £l. In Kgs—Porkers, 12s 9d.
