The Marquis M T lari I igton has been re-elected for ..Jbsc-Ma 1 , Lancashire. Mr Leonard Com .:y .as been reelected for Bodmin. Mr G. O. Trevelyan, who in March resigned the position of Secretary for Scotland in Mr Gladstone’s Government, has been defeated for Howick by a Gladstonite candidate. Mr Joseph Arch, labor candidate, and Mr Timothy Healey, Nationalist, have been defeated for North-west Norfolk and Londonderry respectively.

Conservative candidates have been elected for Liberal seats at Harborough (Leicestershire), Stowmarket (Suffolk), Ripon (Yorkshire), Gainsborough (Lincolnshire), North-west Staffordshire, Hyde (Cheshire), Romford (Essex), Penrith (Cumberland), and Biggleswade (Bedfordshire).

Gladstonite candidates have secured 'ormer Liberal seats for Osgold-Cross and Cardigan.
