1 The following is the Corn Exchange ' report for tho week ending 9th July . Our tiydney advices ito hand, with the i news that cargoes had arrived i and have greatly depressed that market, has had the effect of steadying onr intercolonial demand. Our coastal and local requirements for the next seven or eight months are, however, expected to almost entirely absorb our available supplies. Both our town and country millers have largo orders on hand for flour, and, with the exception of a few of the large mills, their stocks of wheat are pot heavy. Speculation in wheat is not quite so brisk, but millers are quick to secure suitable lines, especially in Tuscan and Pearl, while holders of Hunter’s are firm in their demands. Sales can be made at 4s Id to 4s 2d, for Tuscan 4s to 4s 2d, for Pearl 3a lid to -4s. Second quality has a fair enquiry at 3s 8d to 3s 10d. Chickwheat is so scarce as to be uuquot* able ; any small quantity offering commands within a shade of second quality milling. Oats have fully maintained tho rise noted last week. Prime miffing are firm at 2s fid ; short feed at 2s 4d to 2a 4id ; long kinds find local buyers at 2s 2d to 2s 4d. Barley has few sales to nolo in malting parcels Prime samples are scarce, and would fetch from 3s to 3s 3d ; second quality have no buyers at over 2a 8d to 2s lOd ; feed, however, is scarce, and holders are asking 2s 4d to 2s Gd. Beans are in the hands of a few, who want 3s 4d. Feed peas have a fair trade at 3s to 3s 3s ; Prussian Blues are worth 4s 3d to 4s 6d for seed. Cocksfoot and ryegrass are coming more into notice among buyers ; the former is worth 4d to 4£d; machine-dressed rye is firmly held for 5s 3d ; farmers’ lots, 3s 9d to 4s 6d, according to quality. Potatoes have only a limited demand, and sales are only for « small parcels, and prices range from v 52s Gd to 55s at country Dairy j produce has not quite such an active tone, but prices are firm at last week’s rates.— The above prices (potatoes excepted) are 1 for delivery f o.b. Lyttelton. 1
