London, July 8 Conservatives have been elected for the following seats, held in the last Parliament by Liberals ; Newport (Shropshire) Nuneaton (Warwickshire) Frome (Somersetshire), and the following Divisions : South-East Lancashire, viz., Heywood, Middleton, Radcliffe, Stratford, Gorton, and Prestwick. For the remaining Divisions, SouthEast Lancashire, West Houghton, and Eccles, Conservatives have been reelected.

Gladstonites have secured the seats for Elgin and Montgomery; also the seats for the following, formerly held by Conservatives :—North Lancashire, North Lonsdale, Lancaster and Chorley. Sir William Crossman (Liberal) has been for Portsmouth, the other seat for the same Borough being secured by Sir William Wilson, a Conservative.

Mr Waddy, who unsuccessfully contestad North Islington at the last general election, has been returned for Brigg (Lincolnshire), in place of Sir Ef. Meysey Thompson, a Liberal. The latest completed election retqrns show;—

Conservatives 240 Unionists ... ... 47 Gladstonites 121 Parnellites 55 I The Liberal candidates for West Ham (Essex), Accrington and Southport (Lancashire) have been defeated by Conservatives. A supporter of Mr Gladstone has been returned for Caermarthen (South Wales.)
