Notice appears in the Gazette that it is intended shortly to hold a sitting of the Native Lend Court In the South Island. All persons having claims who have not already forwarded their applications, are hereby requested to do so at once, John Jackson is gazetted as visit'ng Justice for Timaru gaol, E. G. Steclctor, of Titnaru, has resigned his appointment as visiting Justice. John Deans, of Christchurch, has resigned his position as Justice of Peace. Thos. P. Fallon is appointed Columbian Consul General for the Australian Colonies, at Melbourne. Xu consequencs of the reduction in the field force branch cf the New Zealand Constabulary, the services of M? C Lyon, Ist Class Inspector; have been dispensed with.
