WELLINGTON TRAGEDY

Wellington, June 29

At the Magistrate’s Court this afternoon, John Roberts, arrestod "n suspicion of the murder of Edward Mullen, was brought up The only witness examined was |J. R. Brow i, an employe on the Welllngton-MsnawAtu Railway, who swore that ho saw Mullen on Saturday morning, which was the day after he was in cotnpa y of Roberts, thus proving the innooeccs of a cused. The Magistrate said he had no hesitation in ordering that Roberts should bo discharged. In doing so he must say that so far as the present charge was concerned, there was not a shadow cast upon his character. The evidence entirely relieved him from any suspicion of having caused the death of his friend.
