Professor Hutton and Mr Boscawen have returned to Rotorua from a visit to the volcano The earth tremors are decreasing, but at Rotolti. Symptoms of volcanic action are appearing at Hotorua. Accounts from the settlements of the Bay cf Plenty show that great loss will take place from the mud deposits

The License! Viotnallera’ Association, at a special meeting, have expressed sym pathy for Mcßae in hia losses from the eiuptions, and admire him for his bravery he displayed. A resolution was passed urging the Insurance Company to reconsider the decision in his case, aud pointing out that Mcßae twice saved his house from dost rudi >n by fire on the eventful night, whereas he might have obtained the insurance by Jotting the house burn. Copies of the resolutions were forwarded to the Company and to all Victuallers' Associations in the colony.
