The cricket match, Australians versus Lancash’re, was resumed to-day at Manchester. The weather was fine, but the wicket was much cut up owing to |yester4ay’fl rain. The Australians with no wickets down for 60 continued their first innings, which closed for a total of 145, the hlghestjsooreru being: -Jones, caught, E 4; Ssott, Ibw, 28; Trumble, bowled, 11; Garrett, caught, 22. For the home team Watson bowled well, taking 5 wickets for 50 runs. The Lancashire men then went in, nnd were all disposed of for 46, Steel being the only plajer who reached double figures, viz., 21 (caught). O. P. Lancashire was not out with 9. Being 99 runs behind, the Home team followed on, and when stumps were drawn they had scored 29 without the loss of a the Englishmen, Gitfen bowled successfully, taking 6 wickets for 20. The attendance at the match was good.
