Chkistchukch, June IG,

The medals and certificates awarded to Canterbury exhibitors at the recent N.Z. Industrial Exhibition were presented to the winners to-night, by the President of the Industrial Association. The awards comprise 33 silver, 12 bronze medals, and 85 certificates.

At an influential meeting of ratepayers held at St. Albans to night, a resolution was passed protesting against the increase of rating power sought to be obtained from Parliament by the Christchurch Drainage Board.

The weather has been exceptionally cold all day, and to-night it is raining heavily.
