Replying to Mr Tawniao'a request for the establishment of a Maori Council, the Native Minister stated that he was unable to grant the request, as he fails to see that such Council would in any way bo beneficial to the Maoris.
Major Atkinson asked Government if In view of the important meeting of policy-holders in the Government Insurance Association, they would bo willing
i to adjourn. The Efou J. Ballaccj said they had no objection if the House so wished. Mr Guinness called for a division, and the House agreed to adjourn by 4Q to 30.
