The sever trade depression which at present exists in Adelaide is found to greatly militate against the prospects of the Jubilee Exhibition, so far as English exhibitors are concerned.
May 19. The formal ceremony of enthroning the Right Rev Dr Moorhonse as Bishop of Manchester took place yesterday. May 20. Mr Gladstone spoke, during the debate on the Irish Arms Act, in the House of Commons, and made special reference to the remarks made by Lord R. Churcbl I, who declared that the loyalists of North Ireland would be justified In resorting to civil war, if necessary, to resist the establishment of Home Rule in Ireland, Mr Gladstone severely condemned Lord Churchill for his inflammatory utterances, which, he said, were calculated to do
much harm, William Beach, the champion oarsman, who is visiting' England for match purposes, is appearing on the stage of the London Mnstc Halls.
