It is understood that the Victorian Government are willing to allow the noncontributing colonies to share in the benefits of the reduction of the Press rate to Australia to 2s 8d per word, which probably will come iuto force on Ist July next.

In the Legislative Assembly to-day, the contract tor the San Francisco mail service came up for consideratton. A motion that the contract entered into be approved was adjourned until Tuesday next.
Mr Clarke gave notice of his intention to move a vote of censure upon Mr Dibbs for expending the sum of L6oo in publishing the “Australian Portrait Gallery.”
